News and Events
In March we received the news that Lynne Shioyama had been recognized as a level 1 Formation Leader. Congratulations Lynne!
Both the L1 and L2 formation courses gathered at St. Patrick in Tacoma on a Saturday in February. Thank you St. Pat's for hosting. Lynne, Kim and Joann lead the Level 1 course and Marty O'Bryan lead the Level 2 course.
In January we began a once a month format to offer Level 1. Participants from 6 different parishes were in attendance. We hope to keep offering this format for L1 each year.
In January of 2014 a level 1 course began at St. Michael Parish in Olympia. During this course the Sheepfold Consortium formed. Part 2 of this course was the first course sponsored by the Sheepfold Consortium. The weekend of November 22 & 23 was the end of the course. 7 people from 5 different parishes received their Level 1 certificates. The group is pictured below.
Kim Ward offered the following prayer and reflection as the Sheepfold consortium begins: Will you pray with me? Thank you, Good Shepherd, for this moment. Thank you, Good Shepherd, for the mustard seed of the Pacific Northwest Consortium, the Sheepfold, to which you have called us. Open our ears to your beautiful and gentle voice. Lead us forward. Thank you, Good Shepherd. Praise your holy name. AMEN Pictured here is Joann Terranova signing the Formation Leader's contract. We officially begin our first Sheepfold level l course January 10 and 11th. Watch the CGS website for specific dates and locations. (It will be once a month on Saturdays for a year) From our tiny atria, to growth of more atria, Archdiocesan approval, now regional collaboration. We have much to be grateful for and much work in the vineyard ahead of us. What a gift. The Northwest Catholic did an online article on CGS following the international celebration in Arizona. http://www.nwcatholic.org/news/local/catechesis-good-shepherd
